Job alert: Researcher in ecosystem service modelling (Lund University, Sweden) 28.10.2011 |
Center for Environmental and Climate Research, Environmental Science are looking for an outstanding post-doctoral or senior researcher to be part of the project Sustainable Agriculture for the Production of Ecosystem Services (SAPES), which is a collaboration between research groups from three Swedish universities. We seek a researcher experienced in mechanistic and/or statistical modelling, to develop spatial models of biodiversity and the provision of ecosystem services in agricultural landscapes under current and future land-use configurations. The model will be used to evaluate how future land-use and agricultural policies affect biodiversity and multiple ecosystem services, with particular focus on biological control, pollination and soil-related services. The successful candidate will enter a dynamic and productive research environment and collaborate with several other scientists and students conducting empirical field-based studies and contributing to modeling applications. The research involves synthesizing and formalizing empirical research regarding the production of ecosystem services and linking this to spatially explicit information on land-use. Scholarship Application Deadline: 4 November 2011.
